Abstrakt:Unnatural descriptions of inputs into the rendering problem and other hand-manipulated parameters are often used in computer graphics to enhance visual aesthetics or simplify the rendering process. This leads to development of discordant 3D formats and inaccurate, mathematically incorrect rendering results. In this work, we focus on universal modeling of inputs, specifically light sources for rendering algorithms which do not simplify the rendering problem but solve it directly and mathematically correctly, using Monte Carlo integration. A minimalistic interface between a light source and the renderer is presented, which in a combination with serialization can be regarded a universal storage format for light sources. We implement several light sources and present their functionality on selected light phenomena that are often problematic for rendering algorithms using a simplified rendering equation and simplified light sources.
